A coffee shop in a building with almost 350 years of history

Lagoni Kaffebar is at Svingelport 3, in the heart of Helsingør’s old town. The building is recorded as dating from 1690 and has been part of the town’s living history for centuries.

Svingelport was one of the gateways to old Helsingør, where people and goods passed in and out of town. Locals, travellers and merchants met here, and hospitality was part of this place long before the first Lagoni coffee was brewed.

Today, that story continues as Lagoni Kaffebar, with good coffee, good people and a special atmosphere in a historic setting.

A cosy café in Helsingør’s old town

You’ll find Lagoni Kaffebar at Svingelport 3 on Simon Spies Plads, a few minutes’ walk from Helsingør Station and the ferries to Helsingborg. There is seating indoors and in our sheltered courtyard, where you can settle in with a coffee and a board game.

Every Saturday from April to September, there is a flea market on the square just outside. That makes Saturday mornings the café’s busiest and liveliest time of the week. Many of our guests come from Sweden, taking the ferry over for a day in Helsingør.

The café has an elite smiley from the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration. You can read the public inspection report at findsmiley.dk, report no. 961299. We care about the quality of both our ingredients and the way we prepare them.

Our coffee and ingredients

Coffee, tea and organic ingredients

We serve our coffee hot, with the right grind and extraction time, and prepare our tea at the right water temperature with just the right steeping time. They may sound like small details, but they make the difference between a cup you drink and a cup you remember.

We use organic dairy milk and offer soya and oat milk for your coffee. Our croissants are freshly baked. The menu includes coffee and tea, milkshakes, slush drinks and frappés, brunch, sandwiches and cakes, including gluten-free and vegan cakes. Prices range from around DKK 20 for a hot drink to DKK 139 for our largest dishes.

There are six layers between the red cherry on the coffee plant and the green bean we roast. We’ve illustrated the whole journey, from cherry to cup.
